Every year, US retailers offer huge discounts for Black Friday. Digital deals used to be reserved for Cyber Monday following Black Friday, but we’ve seen these deals start earlier and earlier as the years have gone on.
There are plenty of WordPress-centeric deals already available for 2019. Here are some that are worth a look.
No affiliate links here, just tools we love and recommend!
Remember – you should only be installing plugins to your site that you need!
The Events Calendar (Modern Tribe)
There are a slew of events calendar plugins out there. This is the only one we ever recommend or use. It’s easy to customize and has great extensions available to do pretty much anything you need. Hop on this sale if you need:
- Recurring events (Events Calendar Pro)
- User-submitted events and ticketing (Community Events and Community Tickets)
- On-site ticket sales (Event Tickets Plus)
- Collecting events from Meetup, Eventbrite, Google Calendar, iCalendar and more for use on your site (Event Aggregator)
Of course, if you don’t need any of that, the free version of this plugin will probably do you just fine for event management. Can’t recommend highly enough.
S3 Media Storage and Database Migrations from Delicious Brains
The team at Delicious Brains is offering 25% off both WP Offload Media and WP Migrate DB Pro. Those links came right out of the email and will auto-apply the coupon you need.
Offload Media is a great tool for storing your media in block storage outside your WordPress install—somewhere like Amazon S3 or Digital Ocean Spaces that you can slap a CDN in front of. All our Worry-Free WordPress clients have it set up.
Migrate DB Pro is mostly a developer tool, great for quickly moving data between development, staging, and live environments.
These are both invaluable in our experience, so be sure to check back in on this deal.
Our Favorite Page Builder, Beaver Builder
Beaver Builder is a great theme / page builder we use for a variety of our clients. See our recent blog post on picking a WordPress theme for why we like it compared to some of its competition.
The sale starts Friday and includes any package they offer for the page builder. It’s currently unclear if Beaver Themer will be included, but if so, it’s a great tool for customizing WordPress post archive templates and other parts of your theme.
We’re glad you’re here! It’s worth mentioning that this sort of invaluable content is what goes out in our occasional email newsletter. To be sure you don’t miss the next nugget of knowledge, get signed up for that newsletter.

Easy Digital Downloads
Easy Digital Downloads is a robust eCommerce alternative to WooCommerce for digital-only options. PDFs, plugins, what-have-you. They’re offering 25% off with the code BFCM2019 starting Friday.
Not only that, but you can get deals on the entire collection of plugins from Sandhills, including Restrict Content Pro and Affiliate WP, both of which are some of the top in they’re field.
Sandhills also offers Sugar Calendar and WP Simple Pay, but in our experience, these two plugins ultimately lack features that folks will want in the future.
For EDD specifically, you’ll want to pick out a “pass” that has the features you need, though you can also buy extensions one-off. Some of our favorite extras include:
- Access to ALL payment gateways (Extended Pass+)
- Discounts Pro for more complex discount conditions (Extended Pass+)
- Recurring billing (Extended Pass+)
- Content Restriction to lock content behind a purchase (Extended Pass+), though if this is your only need, you may consider a membership plugin instead
- Campaign Tracker, which wires up logging common Google Analytics campaign tags (All Access Pass)
For developers, these extensions also rock:
- Software licensing, providing an entire API for validating software you sell, with management all built into your WordPress dashboard. Also includes dashboard updates if you’re selling WordPress plugins or themes (Professional Pass+)
- Git Download Updater, to keep your software on GitHub or BitBucket and pull the latest updates automatically. Works great combined with the software licensing extension! (All Access Pass+)
For a full eCommerce experience in WordPress, WooCommerce is always our first recommendation. With their Black Friday sale you can get 40% off any extensions, so re-up for the next year if you’re in charge of that.
Donation Collection with GiveWP
For collecting donations, nothing holds a candle to GiveWP. The free version is great, but take advantage of this deal on their paid versions if you need any of the following:
- Recurring donations
- Fee recovery (let donors cover the card processor fee)
- Receipt generation
- Extra payment gateways
- Google Analytics integrations
- MailChimp integration
This deal is specifically for the Plus package. If you were considering the Basic package, this deal is still better, but after the first year you’ll probably want to downgrade back.
Advanced Search with SearchWP
SearchWP is a great upgrade for robust search needs on your WordPress site. This plugin allows you to create content-type-specific searches, search PDF and office documents, integrate your search with a variety of other popular tools, and adjust ranking algorithms. Love it.
Need Improved WordPress Page Speed? WP Rocket
Generally, we find that WP Fastest Cache’s free option gets the job done when it comes to caching your WordPress site, but they do lock some features behind a paid license. If you’re looking for those features, you may as well move to the more polished WP Rocket. You’ll probably be looking to take advantage of:
- Remove query strings from static assets
- Lazy loading (though there is now a native way of doing this, with a free plugin available from Google to do that stand-alone)
Full Membership Offerings – MemberPress
A great membership solution. MemberPress offers robust subscription management, content dripping, all the good stuff. They’re offering a hefty 60% discount this year.
We also happily recommend Restrict Content Pro, which is from the same developers as Easy Digital Downloads. Their Black Friday deal is the same.
If you truly need a gallery plugin, please use this instead of NextGen Gallery. But also be sure to evaluate the Gutenberg gallery block first! It may be enough if your use case is limited.
It’s time to hop on Envira if you’re looking for features like watermarking or eCommerce. Fun fact – paid versions of Envira get you access to an extension that will migrate your NextGen content over. It’s not too late!
Our favorite forms plugin. It offers a ton of integrations and extending it has always been super simple, which can’t be said for some competitors. If Contact Form 7 (plus Flamingo in case an email falls through the cracks) isn’t cutting it anymore, Gravity Forms couldn’t be a better choice.
Their Black Friday deal is Friday only and offers 30-50% off depending on your license needs.
WP Engine is a great hosting option with all the bells and whistles. Good performance, managed updates, SSL included—everything you need. They’re offering 5 months free on annual plans. What a deal!
These guys were actually recently acquired by WP Engine. Their personal plan also includes 5 months free for this year’s deal. They’re geared more toward developers, but still worth a look.
